Top tips

for staying safe on a night out

We all love to have fun! But it’s important we look after each other and the only memories we make are the ones we want to hold on to forever! Here are our top tips to help you stay safe and enjoy your night out:

1. Stick with your friends

They say three’s a crowd, but not when it comes to staying safe on a night out!
Always try to go out as part of a group or pair, that way there’s always someone to watch your back.
We suggest making sure you and your friend’s phones are fully charged before you head out, that way if you get separated you still have a way of getting hold of each other. If you need to charge your phone whilst at the club, just ask a member of the team who will be happy to help! And remember to count your friends before you leave!

2. Keep an eye on your drink

It’s a good idea to keep your drink with you at all times. If you’re worried, make sure to take advantage of the anti-spiking bottle stoppers and protective drink covers we offer, just ask at the bar. Nobody likes getting too drunk! Make sure you eat before you start drinking. Don’t feel like you have to keep up with your friends, if you need to, just take a break between drinks and grab some free water from the bar. Alcohol affects us all differently and knowing your limits is the best way to make sure you enjoy your night!!

3. Always look out for each other.

If you or a friend feels unwell or think you may have had a little too much to drink, then the welfare team are your go to! They will be able to help you and there’s no judgement here! You can get checked over in the medical room and looked after until you feel well enough, it’s important to be honest about what’s wrong so they can look after you and your friends the best they can!

4. Make sure you have a way of getting home safely.

Getting home safely is important! It’s best to know how you’re getting home before you head out. If you need a taxi, just ask a member of the team and they will happily book one for you.
If you already have a lift sorted, arrange the when and where of the pick-up beforehand and our security team will happily escort you safely to the vehicle. If you do end up walking home always stick to well-lit, busy streets and make sure you’re not on your own. It’s best not to walk home with someone you don’t know even if they seem friendly. If you want to be extra vigilant, charge your phone before you go and share your location with a mate or give them a call as you walk. Just make sure you keep aware of your surroundings
And remember NEVER DRINK AND DRIVE!

5. Keep your valuables safe.

Let us look after your things so you can focus on enjoying your night! Most of our clubs have cloakrooms, take advantage of them! We know how important the contents of your bag can be so all of our venues will look after bags completely free. If you have a coat, we can keep those safe for you too from as little as £2.

6. Don’t be a hero.

Our staff are trained to handle all sorts of scenarios, so you don’t have to! If you see something that doesn’t sit well with you, find a member of staff, and let them know what’s going on. Our guest care ambassadors are there to help and happy to listen.

Most of all – have fun, make the best memories and look after each other!
